Club Captain Joshua Barrett wins the CW Walker Trophy and named in team of the year
At this evening’s Bradman Rolton Medal Evening, Club Captain Joshua Barrett won the CW Walker Trophy for a sixth time in ten seasons.
The CW Walker Trophy is awarded to the best wicket keeper in the SACA Premier Competition. Josh’s six CW Walker Trophies is the second most in history, only sitting behind Greg Quinn who won seven.
Josh’s outstanding wicket keeping, which leads many people in cricket circles to believe he is the best wicket keeper in the state, is also supported by his batting. With Josh scoring 712 runs at an average just under 50 in the two day competition this season.
Southern District Cricket Club congratulates Josh on this wonderful achievement.
On top of winning the CW Walker Best Wicket Keeper Award, Club Captain Joshua Barrett was also named in the SACA Premier Cricket Team of the Year for Season 22/23.
Josh was named as one of the Opening Batsmen and was the Wicket Keeper for the side.
